Finally the dream to run Android on iPhone is come true and the guy which have do so is the member of iPhone Dev Team Planetbeing. After the delay of one year Planetbeing sent a tweet announcing that he is finally able to run Android on iPhone.
Well Right now the Android port works on the first and second generation iPhone models only while the iPhone 3GS support will require more time. At this moment the Wi-Fi, search and mobile web browsing work fine over the Android port on iPhone but there are several areas where this port will tweak up for proper functioning.
“Apparently on some iPhones, the installation of openiboot appears to be failing. This is being investigated (I can’t reproduce it on my own phone), but meanwhile you can just do a “tethered boot”. In openiboot console, don’t install but do !zImage, kernel, !android.img.gz, ramdisk, boot “console=tty root=/dev/ram0 init=/init rw” (after installing the other images to the second partition).
In the video he starts with the 1st Gen iPhone booted into the iPhone OS. Then after turning off and back on the iPhone, he shows how he hacked linux to dual boot and then load the Android software. A few things are a little weird, one being the fewer amount of buttons on the iPhone. In the video you see him make a call, receive a text and connect to wifi. The video is given below.
